Welcome to SxS Universe, a UTV parts cross-reference and community app developed by Dyno Tyme. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to being transparent about our data practices.
This privacy policy applies to the SxS Universe mobile app (iOS and Android) and the web version at sxs-universe.web.app. By using our app, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Authentication Data
Firebase Authentication
When you create an account with SxS Universe, we collect:
- Email address — used for account login and communication
- Password — encrypted and managed by Firebase; we never see plaintext passwords
Your password is never transmitted to or stored on our servers in readable form. Firebase handles all authentication securely.
2.2 User Profile & Preferences
Profile Information
- User ID (unique identifier)
- Email address (for account recovery and contact)
- User preferences (dark mode on/off, notification settings, measurement units)
Garage Data
- Your machines/UTVs (brand, model, year, specifications)
- Maintenance history and notes
- Vehicle modifications you've made
This data is stored in our Firestore database and is protected so only you can access it.
2.3 Usage & Analytics Data
App Analytics
We collect information about how you use SxS Universe to improve the app:
- Page views — which pages you visit and when
- Search queries — what parts you search for and which brands you're interested in
- Session data — session ID, start time, duration, and pages viewed
- Login events — when you sign in (timestamp and user ID)
- Device information — user agent, operating system, screen resolution, language

We use Google Analytics 4 (Tracking ID: G-SDH0WD8PL4) for web analytics. This allows us to understand user behavior, traffic patterns, and app performance. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
2.4 User-Generated Content
Community Content
When you participate in our community, we collect and store:
- Community posts — text content, timestamps, associated with your user ID
- Community replies — replies to posts or other users' content
- Repair guides — guides you create, including content and helpful votes received
- Metadata — post timestamps, edit history, vote counts
This content is visible to other authenticated users of the app. When you delete a post, it is permanently removed from our database.
2.5 Audit & Security Logging
Security Logs
- User ID & Actions — we log significant actions (login, data changes) for security purposes
- Timestamps — when actions occurred
- IP addresses — logged for anonymous requests and to enforce rate limiting and prevent scraping
These logs are retained to prevent abuse and investigate any security incidents.
2.6 Advertising Data
Google AdMob
Our free tier displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect:
- Advertising ID — your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android)
- Device information — device model, OS version, screen size
- Ad interaction data — which ads you see and interact with
Premium subscribers do not see ads and this data is not collected for them. See Google's Privacy Policy and AdMob's data disclosure.
2.7 Subscription & Purchase Data
RevenueCat
We use RevenueCat to manage premium subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect:
- App User ID — your SxS Universe user identifier
- Purchase history — subscription status, purchase dates, plan type
- Device identifiers — for linking purchases across devices
We do not receive or store your payment card details. All payments are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play Store. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
2.8 What We Do NOT Collect
We do NOT collect:
- Payment or credit card information (handled by app stores)
- GPS or location data
- Access to contacts, camera, or microphone
- Phone number or phone identifier
3. How We Use Your Information
- Account Management — create and maintain your account, authenticate you, and manage your profile
- Core Functionality — display your garage data, show parts cross-references, manage your community posts
- Analytics & Improvement — understand how users interact with the app, identify technical issues, improve performance
- Security & Safety — prevent scraping, enforce rate limits, log security events, detect and prevent abuse
- Communication — send account-related emails (password reset, account alerts) if you opt in
- Legal Compliance — comply with applicable laws, respond to lawful requests from authorities
4. Third-Party Services & Data Sharing
SxS Universe uses the following third-party services. We do not sell your personal data, but these services may receive certain information to provide their functions:
4.1 Google Firebase
Services Used:
- Authentication — manages your email/password login
- Firestore Database — stores all app data (profiles, garage, posts, analytics)
- Cloud Functions — serverless functions that process requests
- Hosting — serves the web version
Firebase is a Google service. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. See Firebase Privacy & Security and Google's Privacy Policy.
4.2 Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 (Tracking ID: G-SDH0WD8PL4) to track website traffic, user behavior, and app performance. This is standard web analytics and does not track you across other apps or sites. See Google's Privacy Policy and GA4 Privacy Controls.
4.3 Google Fonts & Tailwind CSS CDN
The app uses Google Fonts (Barlow Condensed, Inter, Orbitron) and Tailwind CSS CDN for styling. When you load the web app, these services may receive your IP address. See their respective privacy policies.
4.4 Google AdMob (Advertising)
Our free tier displays ads through Google AdMob. AdMob uses your device's advertising identifier and contextual signals to serve relevant ads. AdMob is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings. Premium subscribers do not see ads.
4.5 RevenueCat (Subscription Management)
We use RevenueCat to manage premium subscription entitlements. RevenueCat receives your anonymous app user ID and purchase data from Apple/Google to verify your subscription status. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
4.6 Affiliate Programs
SxS Universe participates in affiliate programs to support the app's development:
- Amazon Associates — Product links include our affiliate tag. Amazon may track clicks and purchases originating from our links. See Amazon's Privacy Notice.
- AMSOIL Dealer Program — Links to AMSOIL products route through our dealer account. AMSOIL may track referral clicks and orders. See AMSOIL's Privacy Policy.
When you click affiliate links, you leave SxS Universe and are subject to the respective retailer's privacy policy. We do not receive your personal information from these retailers — only aggregate commission data.
4.7 No Data Brokers
We do not sell your personal data to data brokers or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. Data Retention
- Account Data — retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data is removed within 30 days.
- User-Generated Content (posts, guides) — retained until you delete it or request deletion.
- Analytics Data — Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default; older data is automatically aggregated and anonymized.
- Audit Logs — security and access logs are retained for 90 days, then securely deleted.
- Backups — Firebase may retain backups of deleted data for up to 30 days for recovery purposes.
6. Data Security
We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your data:
- Encryption in Transit — all data is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS
- Encryption at Rest — data is encrypted in the Firebase database
- Firestore Security Rules — your profile and garage data can only be accessed by you (authenticated user)
- Cross-reference Data — requires authentication to access
- Rate Limiting — protects against scraping and abuse (per-IP and per-user limits)
- Code Obfuscation — proprietary parts data is protected in the source code
However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work hard to protect your information.
7. Your Privacy Rights
7.1 Access & Data Export
You have the right to access your personal data and receive a copy of it. You can export your data by contacting us at the email below. We will provide your data in a portable format within 30 days.
7.2 Correction & Updates
You can update your profile information, preferences, and garage data directly in the app at any time.
7.3 Deletion & Account Removal
You can delete your account at any time through the app settings. When you delete your account:
- Your profile and garage data are permanently deleted within 30 days
- Your community posts remain visible but are attributed to "[Deleted User]"
- Your authentication credentials are immediately revoked
If you want your posts deleted as well, please contact us before deleting your account.
7.4 Opt-Out of Analytics
You can opt out of analytics data collection in app settings. However, this does not opt you out of Google Analytics globally; you can use Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on for that.
7.5 Cookie & Tracking Preferences
The SxS Universe web app uses cookies and local storage for:
- Service Worker Cache — caches API responses and static assets for offline functionality
- Theme Preference — stores dark/light mode choice
- Session Storage — temporary session data while you're logged in
You can clear these in your browser settings. Clearing cache may affect offline functionality.
8. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
SxS Universe is not directed to children under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will promptly delete that information.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided information to us, please contact us immediately at the email below.
Parents: We use industry-standard safety measures, but we recommend monitoring your teen's app usage and discussing online safety with them.
9. California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Know — you can request what personal information we collect about you
- Right to Delete — you can request deletion of your personal information
- Right to Opt-Out — you can opt out of analytics and certain data uses
